Our Story
EmmanuWheel began in the fall of 2009 as an outgrowth of the Service Projects Ministry of the Lexington Church of Christ. What started as a few accessibility ramp requests through the director’s medical contacts quickly grew as more needs were identified throughout the community. In February 2010, God placed it on the hearts of several members to establish EmmanuWheel as a public charity dedicated to serving individuals with mobility challenges.
Since that time, EmmanuWheel has received its Certificate of Incorporation from the State of South Carolina, secured 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, adopted official bylaws, and seated a Board of Directors. The ministry has also been blessed with significant corporate donations, featured in local media, and supported by a growing network of volunteers and church partners — all working together to restore independence, dignity, and hope to those we serve.
